Did You Know?

Ethiopia is often referred to as the "Cradle of Humanity". In addition to centuries of religious history and folklore, the settlement of Harar in eastern Ethiopia was the location where paleontologists and Beatles fans, Donald Johanson and Tom Gray discovered "Lucy" (in the Sky with Diamonds) in 1974. The 3.2-million year old and 3.5 foot tall skeletal remains became known as the missing link between ape and man.

2008 Project Update #7

We are very pleased to announce that EBA and Partners In The Horn of Africa (Partners) have entered into a joint program of aid work in Ethiopia for the next seven years. EBA will continue to provide capital as well as engineering/scientific skills through Partners on projects that will significantly improve the lives of many people in Ethiopia.

2008 Project Update #6

The trip to Kasso Manso started with an 18 hour flight from Edmonton to Addis Ababa - the capital city of Ethiopia. It's considered a modern city even though donkeys and sheep are a common sight. One afternoon as we were strolling down one of the main streets we heard a commotion off to the side. People were pointing and laughing at a pair of goats tied together that were having a very coordinated three legged race against their shepherd and winning
