Abstract:
Collaboration-based knowledge management has been proposed as a key capability for organisations in the 21st century because knowing how to collaborate is necessary for the process of creating and transferring knowledge, while knowledge creation and utilization, in turn, lead to innovation. The research described here explores in more detail the ways [by] which effective knowledge management enables more effective innovation. A dynamic capability-building approach is adopted in-line with the knowledge-based view of strategy. The research is used to formulate a broad framework that can be used by an organisation to review the extent of its capability against six key dimensions.
